Cybertrials

Cybertrials is a fast-paced, competitive 2D racing platformer where two players race to the finish line across treacherous, trap-filled levels. To gain an edge, players can collect gems to unleash powerful abilities, strategically blocking their opponent's path and turning the tide of the race.

Developed in Unity and C#, the project was managed using an Agile Scrum framework with Pivotal Tracker for task organization. A significant milestone for the project was being selected for exhibition and successfully showcased at the Guerrilla Game Festival 2019 in Madrid, where it was played by the public.

As a Gameplay Programmer and Game Designer on the project, I was responsible for bringing the core competitive experience to life. My key contributions included:

  • Gameplay Programming: I engineered the core gameplay loop, programming all player character mechanics (movement, jumping) and developing the gem-based power-up system that formed the heart of the competitive dynamic.

  • Game Design: I played a key role in the design process, contributing to the overall concept and specifically designing the functionality of the player abilities and the interactive level elements that create opportunities for strategic play.
